Salary:

 

Duties:

The primary responsibilities of this position are to provide dependable, timely and efficient transportation of food and dependable assistance in warehouse operations and safety procedures with emphasis on receipt and storage of all products.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.

  • CDL, class A or B Texas license.

  • Preferably Bilingual.

  • Ability to do heavy lifting safely, reach high and low, full range of motion of upper and lower extremities.
  • Forklift, electric/manual pallet jack, and warehouse experience preferred, but not required.

Oerations Manager 

Full-time position

Immediate Supervisor: Executive Director

Job Location: 1907 Freight Street, Laredo, Texas 78041      

Salary:

 

The Operations Manager is responsible for the physical operations of the South Texas Food Bank.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

  • Knowledge of general warehouse, inventory, food bank, and/or transportation systems.

  • Must have management and organization skills.

  • Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Able to relate to a broad spectrum of people from a variety of social and economic levels.

  • Basic skills on office equipment.

  • Basic computer skills to include working with software such as Windows, Microsoft Office programs and Internet Explorer (I.e. use e-mail for communication purposes).

  • Flexibility to occasionally work weekends/irregular hours as needed.

  • Position requires standing, walking, pushing, bending, kneeling and the ability to reach above the shoulder.

  • Must have ability to lift at least 60 pounds.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

 

Duties:

  • Manage and track inventory for food and equipment.

  • Coordinate and schedule proper maintenance or calibration of equipment.

  • Make equipment purchase in consultation with the Executive Director and Board.

  • Order materials and supplies for warehouse operations.

  • Maintain facilities to comply with Public Health and certifications.

  • Maintain warehouse policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Stay informed in all areas of food safety standards and warehouse safety and security standards.

  • Perform all duties in conformance with appropriate cleanliness, safety and security standards. This includes the breakdown of cardboard boxes, carrying out the trash, cleaning carts and other duties assigned by the Executive Director.

  • Reserve space and vehicles for daily food bank operations and related events.

  • Supervise unloading, setup, and cleanup of food, shopping carts, and other equipment and supplies at warehouse and related events.

  • Communicate volunteer needs to the Volunteer Coordinator in order to recruit volunteers for the operations of the warehouse and related events.

  • Develop task lists for volunteers in this work area; collaborate with the Volunteer Coordinator as needed.

  • Supervise volunteers for the operations of the warehouse processing and related events.

  • Produce regular reports and statistics on a weekly and monthly basis as requested.

  • Develop and maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with volunteers, staff, community agencies and organizations.

  • Perform other duties associated with the orderly operation of the food bank and/or assigned by Director.
