COMMODITY
SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD
PROGRAM

The Commodity Supplemental Food Program - better known as CSFP- is a federally funded program by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and is administered by the Food and Nutrition Service and the Texas Department of Agriculture (state level).

The USDA and Texas Department of Agriculture provides food and administrative funds to the Food Bank to supplement the diets of our most vulnerable population groups. The Food Bank then determines the eligibility of applicants, distribute the foods, and provide nutrition education.

Program recipients receive a grocery bag of supplemental food every month of the year. The CSFP program also requires us to give out health information twice a year. We also provide information on nutrition issues, food demonstrations, and recipes.
