Beating the heat during the summer months can be a challenge, especially in South Texas. Thanks to H-E-B, a long-standing supporter and community partner of The South Texas Food Bank, neighbors were able to gain some relief.
Through the month of August, The South Texas Food Bank distributed box fans donated by H-E-B. Residents of Laredo receiving food assistance, were provided their box fans in addition to food at the food bank’s weekly ‘Adopt-A-Family’ distributions. Additionally, the food bank took some to the out of town distributions for neighbors in our service area.
“As always, we are grateful to our friends at H-E-B, for their continued support and generosity. With their help we have been able to provide nourishment to our neighbors and much needed relief from this summer heat”, said CEO Alma Boubel. •
