EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM / TEXAS EMERGENCY FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (TEFAP)

Staying true to our mission of helping those in need in our community, the South Texas Food Bank provides a supplemental food bag to individuals seeking emergency assistance. Subsequently, these individuals are directed to one of our 60 plus member agencies spread across our service area encompassing eight counties, where they can access food support at least once per month. While designed to supplement the nutritional needs of eligible recipients, it may not fully address all hunger needs or dietary necessities.
The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) of the South Texas Food Bank, comprising a network of over 60 agencies, is dedicated to assisting individuals and families in need. This initiative distributes surplus commodities from the USDA and TDA, in addition to financial support from foundations.
